Volunteer Opportunities

WRLP provides several different opportunities for volunteerism.

  • Service-Learning opportunity

  • Court Appointed Community Service

  • Group & Organizational community service

Service-learning provides High School and College students an invaluable learning experience outside of the traditional classroom setting. Welfare Reform Liaison Project, Inc. recognizes the importance of service-learning and provides students the opportunity to complete service learning as a graduation requirement.

The benefits of service-learning;

Student benefits of service-learning include enhanced opportunities for learning and personal and social skill development. Students gain increased knowledge of academic materials, their communities, and themselves. Service-learning is a form of experiential education that supports deep learning.

Court-appointed community service hours. If you have court-ordered or mandatory community service hours to complete, we are here to help! WRLP provides individuals the opportunity to come in and really provide a genuine service to your community. There are many ways to benefit your community beyond the typical “picking up trash” on the street or cleaning toilets. If you pick our site, we will make sure that you will provide a service that will benefit the community.

When court-ordered, the individual is assigned a community service probation officer. The individual is responsible for locating an appropriate community service site and notifying the probation officer.

Group & organizational community service. If your group or organization is looking to volunteer and make a difference, consider WRLP!  We encourage corporations, businesses, fraternities, sororities, civic groups, religious groups, and more to come volunteer.

The benefits of group community service;

Make new friends, have fun while staying safe, practicing social distancing and making a difference in the community.
